Hastelloy C-22 Fasteners Features

The alloy is also resistant to reducing environments that contain sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and phosphoric acid. Hastelloy C-276 Fasteners Corrosion Resistance

Hastealloy C-276 is a high-performance alloy with superior corrosion resistance in various environments, making it suitable for chemical processing and marine applications. The alloy resists oxidizing and reducing environments containing chlorides, chlorine dioxide, and hypochlorite. It also has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting. Fasteners made from Hastealloy C-276 can withstand extreme temperatures, high pressure, and corrosive environments without losing strength and integrity.

Hastelloy C-22 Fasteners Chemical Composition

Hastelloy C-22 comprises nickel, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, iron, and cobalt. It has a nickel content of 56%, which provides excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation. It also has a low carbon content of less than 0.015%, which makes it resistant to intergranular attack. Hastealloy C-22's high molybdenum and tungsten content makes it resistant to localized corrosion, while chromium protects oxidizing agents.

Hastelloy C-276 Fasteners Applications

Hastelloy C-276 is a popular choice for fasteners in chemical processing, pulp and paper, and marine applications. Its excellent corrosion resistance makes it suitable for handling harsh chemicals such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and acetic acid. It is also used in flue gas desulfurization systems, where it is exposed to wet flue gases that require resistance to chloride-induced corrosion. Fasteners made from Hastealloy C-276 are also used in seawater environments where resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion is essential.

Hastelloy C-22 Fasteners Heat Treatment

Hastealloy C-22 and C-276 are both heat-treatable alloys, but they require specific conditions to achieve the desired properties. Hastealloy C-22 can be annealed at 2025°F and quenched in water or air for superior corrosion resistance and flexibility. Hastelloy C-276, on the other hand, needs to be annealed at 2100°F to 2150°F and quenched in water to attain the same properties. Both alloys can be cold-worked to increase their strength and hardness.
