Monel K500, on the other hand, is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-copper alloy known for its high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. It is also incredibly resistant to wearing and galling. Monel 400 Flanges Chemical Composition
Monel 400 flanges are about 65% nickel and 33% copper, with iron, carbon, and silicon traces. The addition of copper provides Monel 400 with remarkable strength and is extremely corrosion-resistant. The low carbon content reduces hardness and increases flexibility, making it easy to form and machine. Monel K500 Flanges Heat Treatment
Monel K500 flanges can be heat-treated to increase their strength and resistance to harsh environments. A standard solution treatment involves heating the flanges at 982 degrees Celsius for one hour and then cooling them in water. This treatment condition restores the alloys' excellent resistance to corrosion, stress-corrosion cracking, and high temperature. Besides, Monel K500 flanges can be hardened through precipitation hardening, which improves their strength and durability.
