Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy with a chemical composition of 66% nickel and 31.5% copper. The small percentage of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon within the alloy enhances its mechanical properties, including flexibility, corrosion resistance, and low magnetic permeability. This composition is responsible for Monel 400's outstanding sea and saltwater corrosion resistance, as it prevents metal fatigue and cracking.
