Stainless Steel 309 Fasteners Chemical Composition

The high amounts of chromium and nickel give stainless steel 309 excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance. Stainless Steel 310 Fasteners Heat Treatment

Stainless Steel 310 is a heat-resistant alloy that requires proper heat treatment to optimize its properties. The alloy should be heated slowly to about 1,900°F to 2,100°F and soaked at that temperature. This process will dissolve any carbides in the material and improve its flexibility. The material is then cooled slowly to room temperature. It is essential to ensure that the cooling rate should not exceed 50°F per hour to avoid thermal stress cracking and distortion.
