Manufacturing Process Of SS 304 Rods

Nexora Metal produces SS 304 rods by melting a specific combination consisting of iron, chromium, nickel, and sulfur in an electric arc furnace. This molten metal reaches temperatures above 1500°C and forms a uniform alloy that flows into an argon oxygen decarburization unit. At this point, the carbon content reduces to prevent rusting, and the sulfur is added to make the steel easier to operate with. After this process, the liquid steel is poured into moulds, which are cooled by water to form semi-finished billets. Billets are heated and rolled into round bars. The rods are cold-drawn for exact size and strength. The final step is to straighten and cut the metal to the appropriate lengths for specific industrial applications.
