Titanium Grade 2 Sheet Features: Titanium Grade 2 sheet is known for its high strength, low density, and excellent corrosion resistance to various natural and chemical environments, including saltwater, chlorides, and acids. It has a melting point of 1670°C (3038°F) and a 4.51 g/cm³ density. Grade 2 titanium sheets are available in various thicknesses, widths, and lengths. It is also weldable, formable, and easy to fabricate with standard equipment.

Titanium Grade 2 Coil Corrosion Resistance: 

One of the main advantages of Titanium Grade 2 coil is its corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments. It exhibits superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, intergranular attack, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) compared to other metals like stainless steel and aluminum. Grade 2 titanium coils are often used for seawater and other corrosive fluid handling applications, heat exchangers, and marine components.

 

Titanium Grade 2 Plates Chemical Composition: 

Titanium Grade 2 plates comprise at least 99.2% pure titanium with trace amounts of other elements such as iron, oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen. The maximum limits for each element are iron (0.30%), oxygen (0.25%), carbon (0.10%), and nitrogen (0.03%). This composition ensures high flexibility, toughness, and corrosion resistance of Grade 2 titanium plates. The low oxygen content also makes it more weldable and less prone to embrittlement.

Titanium Grade 2 Sheet Applications: 

Due to its excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, Titanium Grade 2 sheet is widely used in various applications, including aerospace components, chemical processing equipment, medical implants, marine hardware, automotive parts, architecture, and jewellery. It is also suitable for environments with high-temperature exposure and low to moderate-stress applications.

Titanium Grade 2 Coil Machining: 

Although titanium is known for its low thermal conductivity and high strength, it can be machined using conventional methods with the right equipment, tools, and coolant. Titanium Grade 2 coil can be machined using saws, lathe machines, milling machines, drills, and routers. The cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut should be optimized to prevent overheating, tool wear, and workpiece deformation. Using lubricants and coolants to improve surface finish and chip evacuation is also crucial.
